WHAT WE DO FOR YOU AND YOUR BIKE

Our specialty is providing top-quality service with a view towards promoting long-term reliability and enjoyment of your electric bicycle. While our focus is electric bicycles, we can do it all in our full service shop, from wheel building to overhauls to brake bleeds. We take pride in the work we do to keep your bicycle maintained for everyday use, because we believe in professional service, honest dealing, and most importantly, bicycles as transportation.

Sustainability means more than selling clean transportation. Sustainability is picking quality products, servicing those products as tools that must be cared for, and nurturing long-term relationships with our suppliers, our customers, and the community. That is why service is the most important thing we do at Chicagoland Electric Bicycles.

BASIC TUNE-UP $95

We recommend a tune-up be performed at least once per year for weekend riders, and twice per year for daily commuters. A tune-up includes adjustment of the brakes, the drivetrain, bearing systems, and a basic wheel true. We also perform a safety check on all bolts.

EBIKE REPAIR $75-100/HOUR

For repair & a la carte services done on e-bikes purchased through Chicagoland Electric Bikes our hourly rate is $75. Even if the manufacturers warranty does not include labor, new e-bikes purchased through Chicagoland Electric Bicycles will include free labor for the first 30 days after purchase.

Additionally, if you purchased your e-bike from Chicagoland Electric Bicycles and your repairs exceed 24 hours we will give you a free loaner e-bike based on availability.

Our electric bike troubleshooting and repair fee for electric bikes not purchased from Chicagoland Electric Bicycles is $100 per hour. Since it is often not possible to diagnose electrical problems without some troubleshooting, we charge a minimum of $60 for initial diagnostic, and bill at our ebike labor rate of $100 per hour thereafter. Depending on circumstance, we may ask for a deposit of up to $300 before starting work (not including parts).

COMPLETE TUNE-UP $175

We recommend a Complete Tune-Up be performed once per year for daily commuters or serious recreational riders. Beyond a basic tune-up, the most important element of the work performed is a full cleaning and lubrication of the primary components on your bicycle to ensure that they continue to work at peak performance. We also perform a full wheel true to ensure a long lasting wheel set. Installation of new parts is included. Cables & housing installation is 50% off.

OVERHAUL $240 TO $320

Our overhaul is a compete rebuild of your bicycle from the frame up and is designed to bring your bike back into like-new shape. Installation of all new parts is included along with a 10% discount on parts. We recommend an overhaul every two to five years.
